This is probably the most inactive I've been, art-posting-wise, on DA for a while now. It feels a little odd, because I often look at my DA site to take a mental inventory of how I'm doing.
The reality of it is that I'm doing a lot of art that's not ready for posting. My husband, Mike, finished a (longish) short story and a novella in the past months, and much of my efforts have been directed to illustrating those. There'll be a lot to show at the end of that tunnel, but the time isn't right yet.
I've also been practicing more for my Art Instruction Schools lessons. The design one really threw me for a loop, and made me realize how lackluster my design work has been in the past. My Atomic Ranger sketch and Signalman piece reflect the effort I've been putting into character designs, and I'm pretty darn proud of them.
(And work's been a bit demanding, but most of us face that problem and hey, no use complaining.)
But that's my update. I'm still alive, I'm still drawing, and I'm still checking out all the awesome art that pops up on DA.

VIDEO: Reassessing my process for speed
I finished the first arc of my comic, Incorrigible IMPS! It took me a long time. Join me, Shell Presto DiBaggio, as I run an experiment to see what art supplies will give me the right balance of speed, color, and quality that I want to make the second arc go faster. This is a test portrait using Arteza Real Brush Pens. https://youtu.be/spRpar6hsoU My Kickstarter for Dauntless: The Heroic Adventure Zine: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mikedibaggio/dauntless-the-heroic-adventure-zine Medusa appears in Challenger Confidential: Copper Knights and Granite Men. Creating an RPG 'Zine
My husband and I are diving headfirst into the world of 'zine creation. That's home-printed and hand-stapled book-making, in our case for world-building and tabletop RPGS. Do you need more supernatural foes, gruesome all-new spells, and tainted psychic horrors to bedevil your player characters? Or maybe you just like the occult detective genre and want to explore some new ideas? Then please check out Dauntless, a zine for the Heroic Adventure genre. It's dual-focused on literature and system neutral tabletop RPG material. Each issue includes short stories, highly developed setting details, scenarios, and random tables for use in superhero and pulp action games. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mikedibaggio/dauntless-the-heroic-adventure-zine
DnD-style RPG Art and Character Creation Chat
Join Shell Presto DiBaggio as she draws a golem fighter taking on a medusa in the style of old RPG books like the Dungeons & Dragons manuals, Palladium RPG books, and GURPS manuals. While I draw, I'll talk about how why you shouldn't spend a ton of time creating a backstory for your new character when you begin playing a tabletop RPG. And I'll give you my best method for making an interesting character with a defined personality quickly. I also talk about how to make a character who is made of stone look like they are, and I read an excerpt from an upcoming Challenger Confidential book featuring everbody's favorite granite-jawed hero, Bul
